The 5 signs it's time to resole your climbing shoes
1. Normal wear — the perfect time

The rubber is beginning to wear on the toe. This is exactly when you should act: the repair is simple, fast, and delivers the best possible result.
2. Advanced wear
👉 You've already waited a little too long.
The sole is heavily worn, and the shoe starts losing precision. Resoling is still possible, but it's time to stop waiting.
3. Hole in the sole
👉 Now it's urgent.
Once the rubber has been worn through, the repair becomes more extensive: the cost increases, and the overall lifespan of the shoe is reduced.
4. Critical damage (rand / structure)
👉 Risk zone.
When the rand (the rubber surrounding the front of the shoe) is damaged, the repair becomes much more complex. In some cases, the shoe may no longer be repairable.
5. Extreme case
👉 Too late.
At this stage, the climbing shoe has suffered severe damage. Resoling may no longer be possible.

Every climbing shoe is carefully inspected and prepared before the new rubber is bonded. We tailor every repair to the level of wear and to the specific model. The process is simple:
- Place your order by selecting the rubber and any options you want, then send us your climbing shoes.
- Once we receive them, we check what repairs are actually needed. If an option turns out to be unnecessary, we refund it. If additional repairs are required, we'll contact you before doing any extra work.
- Average turnaround time is about one week from the moment your shoes arrive at our workshop.

We perform half-sole resoles using two rubber options. Rand repair (rebuilding the rubber around the toe / rand) is available as an option whenever the front of the shoe is worn or has a hole.

How to make your climbing shoes last longer
A few simple habits will significantly extend the life of your rubber: place your feet precisely instead of dragging the toe across the rock; avoid walking around in your climbing shoes (asphalt and sand wear rubber extremely quickly); let them air dry after every climbing session; and clean the sole with a damp cloth to restore maximum grip. Most importantly, don't wait until you wear a hole through the rubber. Resoling at the right time costs less, lasts longer, and preserves the shoe's precision.

How long does it take?
Approximately one week from the moment your climbing shoes arrive at our workshop. Once the work is complete, we'll ship them back using the return method you've chosen.

Ilga is softer and offers maximum grip and sensitivity: the perfect choice if you want the best possible friction and feel. Vibram XS Grip is more durable and more versatile: ideal for intensive use or indoor climbing. If you're unsure, we'll gladly recommend the best option based on your climbing shoes and your climbing style.
What is rand repair?
Rand repair is the reconstruction of the rubber around the toe (the rand) when it has become worn or damaged. We recommend it whenever the front of the shoe is affected, to preserve the structural integrity of the climbing shoe.
How many times can climbing shoes be resoled?
Typically 2 to 4 times, provided the upper and the rand remain in good condition. Every resole performed at the right time significantly extends the life of your climbing shoes.
Is it worth resoling entry-level climbing shoes?
