The Alien X is the sixth generation of the micro cam, the first version of which was approved in 1986 in Colorado (USA). It incorporates the strengths of the original design while offering optimized finishes and performance.
Available in six sizes, the new Alien X features the following improvements:
Cam heads with X-grip coating : Better grip of the cam heads from the first uses.
Three multi-function sizes : The three large models (3/4 yellow, 7/8 gray and 1 red) allow the use of a passive jammer.
More ergonomic and resized trigger bar : The trigger bar has been redesigned to make handling the Alien X micro cam easier and faster, both when placing and retrieving it. The Alien X is also more comfortable to use when wearing gloves and longer since 3 mm has been added between the trigger bar and the cam heads.
Robust and compact overall structure : The metal rivets and the part joining them give the micro cam a homogeneous appearance thanks to a more compact design.
TRUE TO ITS ORIGINS
The Alien X incorporates the strengths of the original, unique design while remaining faithful to the first patented system:
Lightness and reduced volume : The weight of the harness is reduced and the whole thing is less bulky.
Flexibility : Allows the rope to move and prevents the cam heads from moving once in place.
Geometric shape of the cam heads preserved .
Color code for size identification : This color code is the reference for climbing topos of the last 30 years.
Measurements: Opening range from 20.3 mm (0.80 in) to 33.4 mm (1.31 in).
