Corsa
Corsa – The benchmark ultralight ice axe for climbs where every gram matters
The CAMP Corsa is a true benchmark in lightweight mountaineering. Built entirely from 7075 aluminium, it is one of the lightest certified ice axes on the market. Designed for glacier travel, ski touring, summer alpine climbs and every adventure where weight is critical, it delivers the safety of a real mountaineering ice axe while being so light you’ll hardly notice it in your pack.
The head, pick and shaft are all made from high-strength aluminium to minimise weight without compromising reliability. The pick provides effective self-arrest performance and solid penetration in snow, while the machined grooves on the lower shaft improve grip, even when wearing gloves. An internal nylon insert also reduces snow build-up inside the shaft during use.
The Corsa is primarily intended for snowy terrain, glacier travel and moderate snow slopes. Like any ice axe made entirely from aluminium, it is not designed for hard ice, mixed climbing or demanding technical use. For those conditions, a steel-headed model such as the Corsa Alpine or Corsa Nanotech is a far better choice.

Our opinion at 4c+
The Corsa is the ice axe you take when every gram counts. If your objective is glacier travel, moderate snow slopes or non-technical alpine routes, it’s hard to find anything lighter. However, as soon as conditions become more demanding—with hard snow, ice or technical sections—we recommend stepping up to the Corsa Alpine or Corsa Nanotech, whose steel heads provide significantly better penetration and security. This very specific focus is exactly why the Corsa has remained a benchmark for years among ski tourers and Fast & Light mountaineers.
