MATIK – Assisted braking belay device

The CAMP Matik is an assisted braking belay and rappel device designed for sport climbing.

Its patent-pending braking system ensures progressive rope braking in the event of a fall, preventing sudden stops and preserving the rope longer.

The Matik also incorporates an anti-panic system that triggers if the rappel handle is pulled too hard or too fast: the rope then automatically locks. This system is particularly useful for beginners or when using thin ropes. The Matik accepts ropes with a diameter between 8.6 mm and 10.2 mm.

Without movable side plates, the device does not work if the rope is not correctly positioned in its slot: if the cam is not in place, it obstructs the carabiner hole, preventing its insertion.

Designed and manufactured in Italy, the Matik has a hot-forged central body that guarantees its strength.

Always use the Matik, like any belay device, while paying constant attention to the climber.
