CAMP / CASSIN Alpinist Universal – 12-point Crampons

Designed for classic mountaineering and glacier travel, the CAMP / CASSIN Alpinist Universal are robust, reliable 12-point crampons made for confidently moving on hard snow, glaciers, and slopes of low to moderate difficulty.

Their innovative two-part design (front plate and heel cup) replaces the traditional articulated bridge with a structure offering excellent axial rigidity. Once adjusted to the boot, the crampons provide a remarkable sense of stability and excellent pressure transfer, while maintaining a natural walking gait.

Made of NiCrMo (nickel-chrome-molybdenum) steel, they offer excellent resistance to wear and tear and the stresses encountered in high mountains. The 12 points, including 2 horizontal front points, ensure effective grip on hard snow, ice, and varied alpine terrain — they are not intended for vertical ice climbing or technical climbing.

The universal strap binding allows compatibility with virtually all mountaineering boots, whether rigid, semi-rigid, or equipped with overboots. The precise heel cup adjustment system, with multiple positions available, facilitates a secure and stable fit. The dynamic anti-balling plates effectively limit snow accumulation under the crampons to maintain optimal grip throughout the progression.

Manufactured in Premana (Italy), the historic home of CAMP and CASSIN, these crampons meet the requirements of EN 893 and UIAA standards, a guarantee of quality and safety for alpine activities.
