Corsa Nanotech – The high-performance ultralight ice axe for mountaineering and ski touring

The CAMP Corsa Nanotech is the most advanced evolution of the renowned Corsa range. Designed for mountaineers who demand maximum weight savings without sacrificing performance on hard snow and ice, it combines an ultra-light 7075-T6 aluminium construction with Alleima Nanoflex™ steel (formerly Sandvik) reinforcements on both the pick and the spike. This advanced technology delivers significantly greater hardness and durability than conventional steel while keeping weight to an absolute minimum.

Unlike a fully aluminium ice axe, the Corsa Nanotech offers excellent penetration in hard snow and a much more secure bite on ice. At the same time, it remains light enough to disappear in your pack during long approaches and demanding alpine traverses. Its gently curved shaft improves placements on steeper terrain without compromising traditional walking performance, while the machined grip ensures confident handling even when wearing gloves.

Designed for glacier travel, classic mountaineering and ski touring, it offers one of the best balances currently available between weight, safety and climbing performance. As with all Type 1 (B) ice axes, it is not intended for technical ice climbing, difficult mixed routes or intensive step-cutting.

The Corsa Nanotech is probably the best choice for mountaineers who want to minimise weight without giving up the confidence and performance of a genuine steel pick. It sits perfectly between the fully aluminium Corsa and a traditional mountaineering ice axe: light enough for long alpine objectives, yet significantly more capable when hard snow or ice is encountered. For summer mountaineering, glacier travel and ski touring, we consider it one of the most refined and versatile ice axes in its class.
