X-Light Adze – The Fast & Light technical ice axe for modern mountaineering

The CAMP X-Light Adze is a technical ice axe designed for mountaineers looking for a lightweight tool capable of tackling demanding alpine routes while keeping weight to an absolute minimum. Positioned between a traditional mountaineering axe and a true technical climbing tool, it offers outstanding versatility for fast alpine ascents, steep couloirs, snow gullies and mixed terrain.

Its slightly curved 7075-T6 aluminium shaft, certified Type T, delivers excellent performance both when placing the axe in ice and when using it as a walking axe on snow. The Type T NiCrMo steel pick, inherited directly from CAMP’s premium technical ice tools, provides precise penetration and secure placements in hard ice as well as mixed terrain.

This Adze version features a stainless steel adze, making it ideal for cutting steps, cleaning placements and shaping snow or ice during classic alpine climbs.

Thanks to its modular construction, the X-Light can evolve with your needs. The interchangeable pick, replaceable adze or hammer, adjustable hand rest and compatible accessories allow the tool to be configured for different mountain objectives and climbing styles.
