X-Light Adze – Lightweight Technical Ice Axe for Mountaineering and Mixed Terrain

The CAMP X-Light Adze is a lightweight, versatile technical ice axe designed for fast alpine ascents, low- to mid-angle technical terrain, alpine ice, and mixed routes.

It incorporates high-end forged components inspired by CAMP’s technical ice tools while simplifying the overall construction to reduce weight and maximize efficiency across a wide range of alpine conditions. Its curved 7075-T6 aluminum shaft improves swing performance while remaining comfortable to use as a walking axe on snow.

The hot-forged modular aluminum head can be configured with either a hammer or an adze. The Adze version is particularly well suited for mountaineering routes where cutting steps, clearing snow or adjusting anchors is required, while maintaining a lightweight and highly maneuverable tool.

The Type T chromoly steel pick and Type T 7075-T6 aluminum shaft are certified to CE/UIAA Type 2 standards. The three-piece shaft can be configured to match the terrain: with both hand rests installed, with only the lower rest, or without rests for more traditional snow travel.

Carabiner attachment holes in both the head and spike make it easy to connect a leash or tether system. The replaceable steel spike improves durability, while the ergonomically shaped grip ensures precise and comfortable handling.
